RHB Dancetroupe: 10 Year Anniversary Limited Edition Print
Art Direction | Illustration | Image manipulation

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Wellington's own infamous underground comedy dance troupe, The Real Hot Bitches, I was commissioned to create a small but lush screen print as a keepsake for RHB members to take away from their anniversary event.

A 'tableau' of the troupe was arranged to show off and celebrate each member at their best and most memorable. Thanks to an extensive archive of professional photography documenting key public performances, shows and associated promo shoots, each member of the troupe has been painstakingly hand drawn with elements of half-tone detail brought in to add depth and punch.
Individually, each dancer holds their own, leading the viewer in to see something new with each glance, and together they make for a riot of decadence - most appropriate for a decade of fun, attitude and lo-fi meets hi-fi taking-it-to-the-masses antics.

The print is signed and numbered in a limited edition of 50. It’s printed on 280gsm art paper in 'RHB Magenta' ink and screened professionally by Artisan Screen Prints.
Thank you to Cameron Smith for his beautiful photography, without which this print wouldn't exist.
